MY THEORY ON DOUG BREIDENTHAL'S MAIL TRIBUNE "ATTENTION"...
I've come to the conclusion that the Mail Tribune's long knives out for Doug Breidenthal's county commission run this week have more to do with "County Sovereignty" than just about any other issue. Ever since Doug got back from the National Constitutional Sheriffs Association event, and expressed support for getting more county involvement on federal lands, it seems he's become a lightning road for Mail Tribune vitrio. All this week, too.
As I see it, the current government is more than comfortable with sucking at the shrinking federal teat, while promising not to exert any more authority than is currently exerted by the BoC. My "spidey sense" says Doug B's drive for more county self-determination scares a lot of "status-quo-quislings". Good for Doug!
Your weekend Non-Political: Led Zeppelin from 2007 concert, Jason Bonham on the drums substituting for his late father. Incredible song and concert.
The whole concert out on DVD November 19th.
LISTENER DON THOMPSON MISSED THE TRIBUNE CUTOFF FOR ELECTION LETTERS - HERE'S HIS TAKE ON THE POOL LEVY!
Most Oregonians are voting for Measures 79 and 84. These save them taxes. Will Medford taxpayers vote for pools [Measure 15-115] which increases taxes?
How healthy is Medford? ‘Medford, Oregon ranks the 5th poorest city in the USA’ - Nov. 31, 2011:

Here are some other points. ‘The Pool Palaces’: http://www.swimmedford.org/. What have pools cost so far? Medford will spend $300,000 to develop water park plans: http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090910/NEWS07/909100338. It would be nice to have the $300k for this project. Then along comes - ‘Price tag for park upgrade may rise by 50%’: http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120810/NEWS/208100328.
I’m almost finished. Look at the taxes in paragraphs 5 & 6 of ‘Will voters dive in?’: http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121010/NEWS/210100317
NOPE means - NO on Pool Extravaganzas. We don’t need these extravaganzas in these bad economic times!
