6:35: Karen Straughan, a spokesperson for Men’s Rights Edmonton, contributor to AvoiceForMen.com, YouTuber, mother and published writer of erotica novels talks with Bill.

“Like all of us in the throes of #MeToo, I have been taking rigorous inventory of my sexual history, rolling back the tape on past highs and lows: the disturbing teenage experiences no longer chalked up to miscommunication, those times I gave in because it was easier, some unwanted advance successfully fended off.

And then there are the memories of being brusquely, and without permission, pushed up against a wall — and loving it. In fact, those were the steamiest moments I could recall. I wondered if I would ever experience such an unscripted embrace again — and then immediately worried: Did my secret desires make me a traitor to #MeToo and what it stands for?

Check out Karen’s blog HERE. And, why not take a look at her YouTube Channel: GirlWritesWhat.

6:35: Julie Poner, a mother of twins from Indianapolis, talks with Bill today about the rigors of the Violence Against Women Act. Julie is facing her own debacle with the VAWA and she’s here to tell her story.

Julie became personally involved with the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in 1998 when her Czech husband, a former professional hockey player facing deportation for marriage fraud, self-petitioned as a battered and abused spouse and received relief in the form of a green card. Julie has worked to combat the misuse of VAWA in marriage for green card fraud as well as the prevention of international child abduction, an unfortunate but all too common counterpart to the VAWA issue. Her Senate testimony gave her the opportunity to be a voice representing thousands of American men, women and children who have suffered the unintended consequences of a law that currently presumes the foreign national is always the victim.”

READ: A special report from Stop Abusive and Violent Environments (SAVE): “How False Allegations Harm Families and Children.”

Julie is here to ask you to flood the phone lines of U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), to urge him to make major reforms on the Violence Against Women Act.

8:10: Dr. Dennis Powers drops by to bring you today’s edition of “Visiting Past & Present.”

Patrick Karnahan: Artist, Musician, Firefighter

By

Dennis Powers

Born in 1960, Patrick Karnahan graduated from Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California (between Los Angeles and Anaheim). He studied public administration at Chico State and Stanislaus State (Turlock, CA). His interests, however, were in painting, music, and adventure.

Patrick started playing music at age eight. His parents rented him a second-hand trumpet and he played in the school band. He wanted to play trombone but the music teacher said his arms weren’t long enough. Patrick’s father, George, encouraged him to perform outside normal school events, so he played in rock and jazz bands at local pizza parlors, as well as family get-togethers. He also learned to play the French horn, along with the trumpet, even during his college years.

In his mid-twenties, he went to Ireland for the first time. He played the trumpet with different jazz groups. There, he enjoyed ballad music and traditional Irish instruments. While living in Ireland, he put a jazz band together, but it didn’t have any material to play. In a matter of days he wrote ten jazz charts for the band’s first performance. Upon returning to California, Patrick bought a used Irish long-neck mandolin and learned to play it. He found a few Irish musicians to play with, and next bought a banjo and a guitar, to go with learning to playing the melodeon and concertina.

Spliced between this, he worked for fifteen years for the USDA Forest Service as a park ranger, fire patrolman, and seasonal firefighter, then later as a graphic artist and public affairs specialist. Most of his Forest Service career was in the Sierra Nevadas in California, while he worked as a firefighter and in fuels management in the Eldorado, Plumas, and Sequoia National Forests.

Karnahan also has been painting in oils since he was 8-years-old, and he sold his first railroad painting while in high school. In addition to painting wildlands, firelines, and wildland firefighting from his experiences, he also paints the history of American railroads, due to his father’s love of railroad photography. In 1986, Karnahan wanted to display his art work. Working with the local arts council, he hired musicians and provided food and drink at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. This was the first Sonora Celtic Faire; Sonora is the county seat of Tuolumne County close to Yosemite National Park.

If that wasn’t enough, he and a friend founded the Black Irish Band in 1989, of which he is the principal songwriter. The band plays music in many styles, including Celtic, Sicilian, railroad, Gold Rush, and maritime ballads. Telling a story in song lyrics, he has recorded 56 originals with his Black Irish Band–with some 25 CD recordings, over 90 music videos on You-Tube, and hundreds of performances. These recordings include the “Wreck of the Brother Jonathan” (2008) after this author published “Treasure Ship”–and see The Brother Jonathan which is in music-video form.

The three-day Sonora Celtic Faire in early March presents not only the top bands in Celtic music, but also jousting on horseback and a large-armor foot-combat tournament, as in King Author days. A major attraction now, National Geographic filmed it a few years ago.

Some 600 of his oil paintings are represented by galleries, including Gallerie Amsterdam in Carmel and different venues in Sonora. In 2005, his work was featured at the Smithsonian Institution and at the Kennedy Center, plus on the covers of numerous magazines, books, and calendars. Add in being the owner-operator of the Table Mountain Ranch Vineyards near Sonora that includes a miniature railroad, he’s a true Renaissance man and isn’t yet 60 (although close).

With St. Patrick’s Day this past Saturday, March 17th (and enjoyed before then), Patrick Karnahan’s music was part of the festivities throughout this country.

Bill’s Guests for: Monday, March 19, 2018:

6:35: Dr. Jerome Corsi, author of “Killing The Deep State,” talks with Bill today. In the book, Dr. Corsi reveals the secret plans to destroy President Donald Trump.

In Killing the Deep State, Corsi unmasks the powerful players who pull the real strings in Washington. Corsi, author of the New York Times bestsellers “The Obama Nation” and “Unfit for Command,” takes no prisoners as he rips the veil off the Deep State and the powerful agencies behind them – the FBI, CIA, DOJ, NSA, and the Federal Reserve. And he reveals clearly and precisely how no government agency, department or official inside Washington – including the president – is immune from its powerful grip.

Be sure to get your copy right here, or at major bookstores everywhere.

7:10: Greg Roberts, Mr. Outdoors himself from RogueWeather.com calls in to bring to you the Monday, Water World Boat & Powersport, Outdoor Report.

7:35: Mark Seligman, a Josephine County resident and property rights advocate talks with Bill. We’re talking today about LUBA’s reversing of the Josephine County Marijuana Ordinance.

8:10: Dinny McMahon, author of: “China’s Great Wall of Debt: Shadow Banks, Ghost Cities, Massive Loans and the End of The Chinese Miracle,” talks with Bill.

China has accumulated a huge amount of debt over the past decade, albeit not mortgage debt like that which caused the US subprime crisis, or central government debt like that which Greece is struggling with. China’s debt was borrowed by companies and local governments that used it to build public works, housings, and factories. That sounds like a pretty positive thing, but they built far more than is needed, and a big part of the debt might never be repaid. China’s now at a point that if the debt continues rising, it could destabilize the economy.

 Bill’s Guests for: Wednesday, March 14, 2018:

6:35: Danielle Vann, Award Winning author of “The Whizbang Machine,” series of young adult books talks with Bill, about the ostensible decline of literacy in the United States.

Forty-four per cent of our nation’s adults are reading and writing at a fourth grade level. What’s more, it’s even scarier nearly 20 per cent of high schoolers graduated last year without even knowing how to read.

But guess what—-the White House has released its proposed budget for 2019 that slashes federal funding for a vital tool in education— libraries and museums.

Danielle A. Vann, a Dallas-area crusader on behalf of reading, an award-winning novelist of young adult books and a former television personality, is on a mission to stop this campaign against literacy.

“Regardless of your politics, you have to know that an illiterate public is an anathema to our Democracy,” said Ms. Vann. “When it comes to our children, we need to storm the barricades against illiteracy.”

Ms. Vann is taking her message to the public, to educators, to school and state officials—anyone she can button-hole to lobby or reach with her public speaking activities and YouTube videos.

The cutback in funds for libraries and museums will, according to Ms. Vann’s research, greatly impact public libraries, public and charter schools, and public universities around the country.

The proposed Fiscal 2019 budget contains significant cuts to federal library funding as well as eliminating the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Check out more from Danielle at: DanielleAVann.com.

7:10: Eric Windheim, an EMF specialist and owner of Windheim EMF Solutions in Sacramento, is here to discuss the ongoing battle against Smart Meters and what the future looks like.

Check out more at: KnuteBuehler.com.

SCHOOL PROTESTS WEDNESDAY – Who’s in Charge here?? (Bill’s Opinion)

The empty skulls pushing to skip school Wednesday to protest so-called “Gun Violence” are out of order. You have a perfect right to push your agenda and protest OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL HOURS. All you superintendents and school boards wringing hands over “balancing school disruption with rights” are derelict in your duties, displaying cowardice, and letting the inmates run the asylum. Would you be so quick to “Balance school disruption with rights” were the kids going out to preach “Abortion is Murder”? I doubt it.

There’s always been a time and place for the first amendment…I supported the BLM right to protest, just not on the job, as it’s not your time, it’s the employer’s and fan’s time. A student’s “job” is going to school, and from the looks of Oregon’s school rankings, they’re already not working very hard.

Gregory is a geologist with over 35 years of studying the Earth and how it physically works. He is a strong proponent of the Scientific Method, and believes that both sides of the climate change debate needs to be heard fairly.

You can get your copy of the book by clicking here.

6:20: Jason Hanson, former CIA agent, and author of the book: “Spy Secrets That Can Save Your Life,” talks with Bill.

Jason is here to talk about his new book out there, chock full of new stuff that you can use to further protect your family.

“Survive Like A Spy”

Former CIA Officer Jason Hanson is all too aware of the potential dangers of today’s world. A security specialist and successful contestant on ABC’s Shark Tank, Hanson has dedicated his life to helping everyday citizens defend themselves at his Spy Escape & Evasion school.

In SURVIVE LIKE A SPY: Real CIA Operatives Reveal How They Stay Safe in a Dangerous World and How You Can Too (TarcherPerigee, March 6, Hardcover & eBook), Hanson takes us deep into the world of espionage, revealing true stories and expert tactics from real CIA operatives who have worked dangerous missions all over the world.

Hanson’s mission is to help Americans live a safer, happier, more successful life. His book is meant to entertain, but also to help readers feel empowered and prepared, no matter where they live or what they do. The allure of the book is twofold: the real-life spy drama stories are exciting and entertaining to read, while the accompanying tactics and lessons at the end of each chapter are invaluable guides to keeping you and your family prepared and safe.

In clear, decisive steps, SURVIVE LIKE A SPY walks readers through potentially life-saving skills such as:

. How to survive a kidnapping

. The number one way to deal with a threatening individual

. How to improvise a weapon using ordinary, inexpensive items you already have at home

. The critical items you need when traveling in the age of terrorism

. How to create covert communications signals to protect your family

. What to do if you feel like someone is following you

. And much, much more.

In his first, New York Times bestselling book, Spy Secrets That Can Save Your Life, Hanson showed how the simple tactics he learned as a CIA Officer could help regular Americans lead safer and more secure lives. With eye-opening accounts of spy missions in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and Japan, SURVIVE LIKE A SPY not only reveals a fascinating glimpse into the lives of real-life spies, but also offers actionable tips to help everyday people stay safe in an increasingly volatile world.

READ:How Virtual Should Cars Be?

You can also check out Eric’s reviews of the latest cars, trucks and bikes at: EPAutos.com.

COMRADE BROWN & A.G. SESSIONS (Bill’s quick take)

Comrade Jerry Brown and A.G. Sessions dust it up over immigration enforcement. Jerry is apparently hard at work turning the late great Golden State into a 3rd world nation….#1 in poverty.

Sessions has constitutional authority on his side…but still is a massive statist at heart: “There is no nullification. There is no secession. Federal law is the supreme law of the land. I would invite any doubters to go to Gettysburg, or to the tombstones of John C. Calhoun and Abraham Lincoln. This matter has been settled.”

This is standard swamp talk. “This matter has been settled” really means “Do what we say or we kill you”. (Remember this)

“Federal law is the supreme law of the land”…yes, but only when pursuant to the constitution. Otherwise, why would we need individual states? For example, the constitution specifically authorizes Congress to decide matters regarding immigration and naturalization. That’s the “supreme law of the land”, and Comrade Jerry is violating this.

As to “There is no Nullification”, c’mon, Oregon’s marijuana law clearly demonstrates that nullification is alive and well.
