5-19-2020: Josephine County Sheriff’s Office To Step Up Intake of Suspects at Jail

THE JOSEPHINE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS ANNOUNCED THAT IT WILL OPEN ITS DOORS TO INCREASED INTAKES OF SUSPECTS. ONE WAY TO DO THIS IS TO TEST NEWLY ARRIVING ADULTS FOR THE CORONAVIRUS, SO THAT THEY CAN BE PLACED IN THE GENERAL POPULATION MORE QUICKLY. THAT’LL BYPASS A 14 DAY QUARANTINE WHEN NEW SUSPECTS ARRIVE. THOUGH THERE ARE RUMORS THAT THERE ARE ACTIVE CASES IN THE JAIL, THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THAT THERE ARE NO POSITIVE CASES, OR SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OF THE VIRUS WITHIN THE JAIL.
