5-19-2020: No Fires Reported After Weekend Thunderstorms

THE WEEKEND RAINS BROUGHT MUCH NEEDED MOISTURE TO THE REGION, BUT IT ALSO BROUGHT WITH IT, A STRING OF THUNDERSTORMS. BUT, HAPPILY, THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY SAYS THAT WHILE THERE WERE ABOUT 24 LIGHTNINING STRIKES IN JACKSON AND JOSEPHINE COUNTIES, NONE OF THOSE STRIKES RESULTED IN SMOKE OR FIRE. ODF PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER BRIAN BALLOU SAYS THEY HOPE THE COOL WEATHER CONTINUES, SO THAT THERE WON’T BE ANY EARLY FIRES IN THE SEASON.
