5-19-2020: Oregon Supreme Court Places Stay on Judge’s Ruling to End Governor’s Stay Home Order

THE OREGON SUPREME COURT HAS ISSUED A STAY THAT KEEPS GOVERNOR KATE BROWN’S EXECUTIVE ORDERS IN PLACE ON BUSINESSES AND CHURCHES. ATTORNEY KEVIN MANNIX REPRESENTS A GROUP OF CHURCHES THAT SUED THE GOVERNOR. THEY CLAIM THE LAW BEING USED BY THE GOVERNOR DOESN’T ALLOW FOR HEALTH EMERGENCIES. THE GOVERNOR APPEALED THE DECISION TO THE OREGON SUPREME COURT AND MONDAY NIGHT THEY ISSUED A STAY WHICH KEEPS THE GOVERNOR’S ORDERS PLACE UNTIL THE CASE CAN GO TO TRIAL.
