ABOUT: The Parents Television and Media Council is a nonpartisan education organization advocating responsible entertainment – (www.parentstv.org).

The Parents Television and Media Council is warning parents about the new season of Netflix’s hyper-sexualized teen drama, Sex Education, that has been released today – in time for the start of the new school year.

How bad is Sex Education? Here are some examples of what America’s young people are watching—and emulating:

Girls’ breasts fully exposed to entice an adolescent boy … homes filled with erotic sex toys and pornographic “art” … nonstop depictions of, or discussions of, sex in the most explicit and graphic terms … camera zoom shots of male genitalia … and other equally disturbing sexual images.

Despite all the pseudo-scientific psychobabble layered in to make Sex Education seem weighty and serious, there’s no getting around the fact that it’s really just a teen-targeted vehicle for nudity and explicit sexual content.

7:10 Perry Johnson Starts PAC and Commits to Match $1 Million for Politically Persecuted Moms, Dads, Grandparents

More on Perry: www.perryjohnson.com

Perry Johnson, Republican presidential candidate and outsider businessman, announced he has started a PAC to raise money for those accused of crimes related to the 2020 election and committed to an impressive personal match of up to $1 million.

Johnson said, “These America-loving moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas had grievances with the 2020 election and were doing what they believed was best for their nation. These are ordinary Americans who love their country – not criminals. Political speech in this nation is protected by the first amendment and we must never criminalize it. The RNC has abandoned these people in a time of need as they continue to be persecuted. Our judicial system is founded on the principle of due process. These electors deserve a robust legal defense, and that is why I am establishing this fund, and promising to match up to $1 million as they face a tough road ahead.”

In Michigan, prosecutors initially declined to take any action against those now facing charges from the Michigan Attorney General, with one such prosecutor saying “Based on my review of the evidence and legal authority, I do not recommend authorizing charges against the 16 Republican candidates for electors.”

Donations that count toward the match can be made at defendthem.net.

Johnson’s campaign is building on an already aggressive advertising campaign, announcing a 7-figure national TV and digital buy over the coming weeks.

8:10 Ed Brodow Bestselling author and conservative political commentator Ed Brodow argues that white people are victimized by racism and entitled to government protection as much as any other group in his new, No. 1 Amazon Best Seller, The War on Whites.

Making his case for the reverse discrimination consequences of antidiscrimination measures, Brodow said, “Discrimination against whites is just as bad as discrimination against blacks or anyone else.

Racism in any form is unacceptable.”

Advocating for a value system that prioritizes judging people based on the quality of their character instead of the color of their skin, Brodow takes a deep dive into the unintended divisive outcomes of the push for diversity.

“Under the widely accepted version of diversity, whites are demonized as oppressors and blacks are disempowered by being told they are helpless, oppressed victims,” Brodow said. “Both contribute to the social disintegration of America.”

Some of the topics Brodow explores in his book include:

  • Racism/discrimination against whites
  • Systemic racism and white supremacy
  • Diversity trainings
  • Diversity vs. meritocracy
  • The educational system
  • Affirmative action
  • Black Lives Matter
  • Critical Race Theory
  • Joe Biden’s presidency

7:10 State Senator Dennis Linthicum, K. Falls and today we dig into Initiative Petition 3. www.ElectDennis.com and his latest newsletter on the IP:

The animal rights activists are at it again.

They have created a ballot initiative to “End Animal Cruelty” and are busy collecting signatures to get it on the 2024 ballot. Needless to say, none of us supports or condones “animal cruelty” which is why we already have laws prohibiting this behavior. This is simply another neo-Marxist effort to up-end long-standing cultural norms, historic values and traditions by universal mandate.

As always, the devil is in the details of IP3.

Initiative Petition 3 is a ballot initiative filed for the Oregon ballot in 2024. For those hearing about IP3 for the first time, this ballot initiative pretends to enhance animal rights by removing exemptions which allow legitimate hunting, fishing, farming, ranching, dairy, and poultry harvesting operations to exist in Oregon.

Oregon already has statutes which prohibit the negligent withholding of care and the intentional injury or unnecessary killing of animals. But, IP 3 has a very different focus. It is about more than ending animal cruelty, it is about forcing a new way of life. It will force the public, by criminal statute, into a new, never-imagined vegan-lifestyle.

CSBO Denounces ODE K-12 Health Education Draft Standards

IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Date: August 29, 2023

Sd7

Contact: Gary Richardson, 541-479-3775
csboteam@csbo.org

Salem, OR:  The Community School Boards of Oregon (CSBO) demands the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) withdraw their recently released education draft standards. The ODE K-12 Health Education Draft Standards propose exposing children to sexuality before they are developmentally ready for the material. These standards do not represent the values of the vast majority of parents.

“To see the over-sexualization of our youngest children is appalling,” says CSBO Director Brett Cain.  “The standards are confusing, destructive, and inappropriate for children.”

Implementing health standards that are overly sexual for elementary students is a misguided approach that undermines the age-appropriate nature of their education. Elementary school is a time for children to establish a foundational understanding of health and wellness without delving into complex and mature topics prematurely. Introducing explicit sexual content at this stage could lead to confusion, discomfort, and an inappropriate acceleration of their sexual awareness. Instead, the focus should be on teaching basic hygiene, nutrition, and physical activity, which are essential building blocks for a healthy lifestyle.

Community School Boards of Oregon (CSBO) exists to be the voice for like-minded educational leaders to preserve and promote quality education, which protects and empowers Oregon students. School Boards are a key part of the K-12 educational system. A School Board is a governed body, elected by their constituents, to oversee and serve all students.  While School Boards have a huge influence on local education, administrators like superintendents, and parents play a vital role in schooling. CSBO’s mission is to unite schools who believe that local control is the way to make students, schools, and communities thrive.

CSBO urges like-minded community members to voice their strong disapproval of this draft standard. Oregon Department of Education is currently accepting comments at the link below until September 1, 2023.

Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, author of The Soros Agenda, is the Founder and President of the New York-based American Center for Democracy and the Economic Warfare Institute. Dr. Ehrenfeld’s multidisciplinary approach encompasses economic warfare and Weapons of Mass Effect (WME), including disinformation, free speech, indoctrination, propaganda, PC coercion, lawfare, corruption, money laundering, Political Islam, terrorist financing, Narco-Terrorism, the links between global criminal and radical networks and Jihadi/terrorist groups. Dr. Ehrenfeld focuses on identifying patterns of seemingly unrelated domestic and foreign events as they link to threaten the U.S. political, social, and economic stability and its financial system and other matters related to U.S. and Western democracies’ security.

Dr. Ehrenfeld successfully challenged a lawsuit launched by a Saudi financier of al Qaeda in the UK as a weapon to silence her and others from exposing him and his ilk.  Dr. Ehrenfeld’s initiative and efforts led to the passage of New York State’s anti-libel tourism, aka “Rachel’s Law, ” and the SPEECH Act, signed into law by President Obama in August 2010. These laws protect American writers and publishers in print and on the Internet from the enforcement of foreign libel judgments in the US.

8:10 Dr. Dennis Powers, www.DennisPowersBooks.com with today’s “Where Past Meets Present”.

KMED and Bill/Blanch Virgin: Southern Oregon’s Radio Pioneers

By Dennis Powers

William (“Bill”) Jackson Virgin was born in 1886, and five years later, his father moved the family from Wisconsin to Ashland. While his father owned and operated the Ashland Mill, Bill attended Ashland schools and played football for Ashland High. Blanch McBride also attended the high school, where she met–and later married Bill. After enlisting and serving in the Signal Corps, Bill and a few Ashland friends built and tested an experimental, simple 5-Watt radio transmitter in a barn. Built of “crude” parts on a wood plank, it transmitted Southern Oregon’s first radio signals in 1921.

With his life-long interest in electronics, he applied for a radio broadcasting license and started constructing the station. The Medford Mail Tribune agreed to supply him with news reports to broadcast, and in September 1922, Bill Virgin acquired a license for station KFAY in Medford; this activity came several months after KGW acquired a radio license in Portland, the first one in Oregon to do so. KGW operated until changing its call letters in 2003 to KPOJ.

On September 23, 1922, KFAY began broadcasting at 5-watts and was located at the old Jackson County Fairgrounds. Having relocated to Medford, Bill Virgin broadcasted orchestra music, which could be picked up by listeners from Santa Cruz to Salt Lake City. His later programs were: “broadcasting that suits you, music, news, sermons, addresses, daily market, weather, and crop reports.” However, this was mainly music (phonographic records or a Virgin-found-amateur or talent player) in the evening for a few days a week.

Virgin’s keen business sense in promoting radio was found in his KFAY’s broadcasts from the old fairgrounds, and then later lowering equipment into the Oregon Caves to determine the depths at which he could transmit and receive. Selling radio sets and parts by day at his Medford store, however, but broadcasting at night proved to be a problem. The well-capitalized, national radio shows broadcasted their best programs at night–and he couldn’t compete. Going off the air in 1924, Virgin returned KFAY’s license to the Commerce Department, which regulated radio stations until the creation of the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) in 1934.

Realizing he needed support and capital, Virgin brought in his friend, Robert Ruhlthe publisher and half-owner of the Medford Mail Tribunein as a partner who helped finance a new station’s construction. On December 13, 1926, Bill filed his application for the new station, KMED. Two weeks later, the license was granted (this can take years now), and it began broadcasting on December 28th from his newly built studios in the Sparta Building at Riverside and Main.

With state-of-the-art equipment as a 50-watt, Western Electric transmitter, KMED was off to a fine start. Two 85-foot wooden towers (purchased from local farmers and more than likely used before as windmills) were mounted 82 feet apart on the building’s roof, and copper wire then was stretched between the two to send out its signal. Although Ruhl had bought his interest for a reported $1,500, the newspaper then and for years referred to KMED as the “Mail Tribune Station.” Robert Ruhl apparently thought that radio was a passing fad and graciously gave his interest back to Bill Virgin.

From the beginning, KMED was very active in sports broadcasting. It reportedly was the first to broadcast a high school football game in November 1927, and the first to broadcast a college football gamethe University of Oregon versus Californiaon October 15, 1927. It broadcast more football games, play by play, than any other West Coast station and was the only station to broadcast the full returns of the 1929 baseball World Series.

Suffering from Bright’s disease (a severe kidney inflammation) for years, Bill died in 1928 at the young age of 41. His widow, Blanch, inherited the radio station, and Charles “Pop” Gates (who owned an auto company across the street) became her key advisor. Blanch managed KMED with full authority, however, over both programming and operation, and then was the only woman in the country who owned and managed a radio station.

KMED flourished under her control (including hiring one of the few women nationally as program director, Gladys La Mar, in 1934–who was that until 1950). KMED became part of the NBC network in 1937, broadcasting national programs such as Eddie Cantor and “Amos ‘n Andy.” During World War II, different programs were broadcast over the NBC network from Camp White in what’s now White City. It moved to 1440-AM in 1941.

Instrumental in continuing the development of KMED, Blanch became a strong supporter of community programs, from the arts to music. In 1947, she married Eddie Randle who worked at the station as a technician and was a “younger man.” Sensing the changes to come from television, Blanche sold KMED in June 1950 to a group of local businessmen: a doctor, dentist, mill and lumber operator, packinghouse and fruit-shipping operator, and an insurance broker, who used the name of “Radio Medford, Inc.

She never returned to the station and an era in broadcasting in Southern Oregon had come to a close. Blanch and Eddie moved to Los Angeles and eventually to Marysville, Washington. She died in 1978 in Marysville, Washington.

Operating continuously since 1926, KMED (at 5,000 watts) has stood out and is certainly the oldest station in Southern Oregon. KCMD-99.3 FM (Grants Pass) was acquired from Three Rivers Broadcasting in March 2017; KMED later changed to 106.3 and 106.7 FM (KMED–Medford) in early 2023 with KCMD-Grants Pass retaining its 99.3 FM.

Bicoastal Media owns the stations and is the Pacific Northwest’s largest radio networks with 53 radio stations up and down the coast in 13 distinct markets; KMED with its news/talk/live show emphasis still stands tall “where past meets present.”
