6:35 In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder, the national conversation has turned to the question of what is creating the “activist pipeline.” In her new op-ed in the Daily Wire, Kendall Tietz, investigative reporter for Defending Education, shows how that pipeline begins at taxpayer-funded teacher training conferences, where unions and associations like the National Education Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) push leftwing ideology and political activism over academic achievement.
Drawing on documented sessions from major conferences, Kendall reveals how teachers are coached to reframe math, literature, and history through race, gender, and climate ideology– turning classrooms into engines of political mobilization rather than learning. With national academic achievement scores plummeting, these priorities are not just misguided, but destructive.

8:10 Capt. William E. Simpson from the Wild Horse Fire Brigade. We debut his song about the heritage horses – “Wild Stallion”, a really great song! Here’s a link to it: https://youtu.be/uRTVGd5CkxU?si=5BfH7OVXExCT-4fS
(From Bill Simpson) As a published author, I’ve written both fiction and non-fiction books that have been published: https://www.simonandschuster.com/authors/William-E-Simpson/169118167
Most of my published articles are non-fiction related to natural resource and wildlife management as well as wildfires. But unknown to most folks, I dabble in poetry.
I was digging through some of my older articles when I ran across some prose written to accompany some of the images I had of nature and wild horses. That prose was titled ‘The Vanishing Spirit of America’ and was written in 2019 when I was reflecting on our human experience and the erosion of the key values that set humanity apart from wild beasts.
But experiencing the love and civility of wild horses, and experiencing their world for the past 11-years by living among them and studying them using my training in science, I am now in awe of them. And I can honestly say that without horses, there would be no human civilization as we know it today…. we can learn a lot from a wild stallion.
So, taking my prose from the Vanishing Spirit of America, I used those words and added a bit to create the lyrics for a new Country Western song to hopefully help my fellow Americans form a better appreciation and understanding of our now vanishing American wild horses…
So I put my lyrics into a computer program and added directions, such as ‘style’, ‘tone’, ‘male or female voice’, ‘tempo’, etc… and then asked the computer program to take my lyrics and direction and create a song.
After several hours of tweaking the nuances, I had what moved me… and hoped it would help others feel the passion I have for saving what’s left of our ancestral cultural-heritage horses…. The title I am set on is ‘Wild Stallion’

6:30 Samuel Garza Bernstein, author of the biography about the FIRST Joker, CESAR ROMERO: JOKER IS WILD
Sam is a Stonewall Book Award-winning writer, screenwriter, and playwright, as well as the author of Starring Joan Crawford: The Films, the Fantasy, and the Modern Relevance of a Silver Screen Icon. He has lived all over the world and worked in just about every aspect of show business
ABOUT CESAR ROMERO: THE JOKER IS WILD
Dynamic and debonair, Cesar Romero was best known for creating the role of the Joker in the 1960s Batman television series. As the first actor to play Batman and Robin’s villainous nemesis, Romero established the character’s giddy, manic tone and the distinctive laugh that subsequent actors like Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Joaquin Phoenix would use as the starting points in their own Oscar-nominated (Nicholson) and Oscar-winning (Ledger and Phoenix) performances. As a closeted gay man of Latin American descent, Romero gracefully faced many personal challenges while maintaining his suave public image and starring opposite legends ranging from Shirley Temple to Marlene Dietrich, Carmen Miranda to Frank Sinatra, and Kurt Russell to Jane Wyman.
The first biography of the consummate entertainer, Cesar Romero: The Joker Is Wild, captures the critical moments of Romero’s childhood, adolescence, and accomplishments in Hollywood. Author Samuel Garza Bernstein shares anecdotes regarding Romero’s public and personal life, as well as Romero’s private disdain for his reputation as the “Latin lover,” a discriminatory stereotype he found constrictive both in terms of his range as an actor and as a man who kept his sexuality private.
Cesar Romero is an in-depth study of a significant Hollywood star and his impact on the entertainment industry. Batman made him immortal, but with more than four hundred film and television credits, his six-decade career as an actor, dancer, and singer made him a true Hollywood icon.

“Virginia Education Association are implying that they will intervene to protect teachers who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death. The President of the VEA, Carol Bauer, said that the push by Virginia superintendents to punish teachers who celebrated Kirk’s death was “political overreach.” That’s even more problematic as the VEA is a union – a private organization – interfering in the management of public schools that should be responsive to taxpayers.”
“Meanwhile, union bosses are implying that they won’t protect workers who expose those who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death. According to the NY Post, union reps told a nurse to “start looking for a job” after she was suspended for posting on social media about a doctor who openly celebrated Kirk’s murder. She was reinstated but has still filed a lawsuit against the hospital.”

7:15 Paul Oster, America’s Credit Repair Man www.BetterQualified.com
The growing cost to buy and maintain a car, made worse by inflation and tariffs, is driving more and more car owners into auto loan defaults and repossessions. The Consumer Federation of America says this is a growing potential crisis with delinquencies, defaults, and repossessions trending to levels similar to what was apparent just before the Great Recession.
“This is a worrisome trend as for those on a budget the slightest increase in any payment can begin a spiral toward default and a bad credit rating which in turn leads to higher payments on other loans and purchases,” says longtime Credit Repair and Credit Management Expert and the founder of Credit Repair Firm Better Qualified Paul Oster (see short bio below). The expert known as ‘America’s Credit Repair Man’ says, “it’s so very important, should you have a problem paying, to address it with the lender ASAP or work to better manage your household budget.”
And it’s not only the average American. An average new vehicle in the U-S now sells for almost 50-thousand dollars with one in five car owners paying more than a thousand dollars a month. Worse yet nearly one in five new car buyers have a loan that is 7-years long. Used car prices had also jumped more than 6-percent year over year in June 2025.
So what is job one to get your auto loan mess resolved?
CNN, NBC, Fox News, and stations in major markets across the country. Paul is the founder and CEO of Credit Repair Firm Better Qualified in Eatontown, NJ.
8:10 Cynthia Fisher, founder and chairman of Patient Rights Advocate (PRA), entrepreneur, and a leading voice on healthcare price transparency
.
New this week, it was reported that health insurance premiums are expected to see the greatest rise in 15 years… Yet, insurers continue to keep upfront prices hidden from consumers.
A recent survey shows that employers are preparing for the largest projected increase (9%) in healthcare costs in a decade or more. This dramatic spike in costs is forcing companies to take a closer look at their insurance plans to find ways to save money and offset costs for employees.
Cynthia talks about the impact these steep price hikes will have on employers and consumers. She also speaks to how price transparency would unleash savings, hold insurance companies accountable, and drive down costs for employers and consumers.

The Consequential Link in Ending Street Chaos: Compassion Plus Accountability
By Michele Steeb, Visiting Fellow with the Discovery Institute’s Fix Homelessness Initiative
America’s streets have reached a breaking point. Encampments sprawl across sidewalks, untreated mental illness and addiction fuel disorder, and public spaces once vibrant with life have become zones of despair.
President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders – Ending Disorder on America’s Streets and Addressing Crime and Beautification in D.C. – finally confront this decade-long humanitarian crisis head-on. By directing federal resources to dismantle encampments and enforce laws against public disorder, these orders mark a long-overdue acknowledgement: the nation’s crisis is one of homelessness, but also one of public safety, public health, and human dignity.
For too long, progressive policies have allowed the sickest among us to deteriorate before our eyes, abandoned in the name of “compassion.” The president’s bold actions open the door to a new era – one in which compassion is measured not by inaction, but by the will to intervene, save lives, and restore communities.
But make no mistake: these executive orders alone will not turn the tide. Relentless follow-through and accountability will be required across all tiers of the new system. Success will demand building new programs; it will also require they are adequately and professionally staffed, guided by the right interventions for people who are too sick to self-refer, and backed by the political will to hold local leaders – from social workers to judges to elected officials – accountable. Lithia Water: In Bottles and Fountains
By Dennis Powers
With over forty bubbling mineral springs in and around the City of Ashland, it was natural that people would commercialize this. Dating back to 1891, John Wagner (of Wagner Creek fame) built a bottling business a few miles east of Ashland. Ordering crown-top bottles from a St. Louis concern, Wagner was the first to use these in Southern Oregon. He later purchased ones made in Berkeley, California, with the words “Siskiyou Natural Mineral Water” stylized on them and by wagon delivered these throughout the region (including Hilt and Hornbrook) or by railroad to San Francisco and Portland.
This mineral water was drunk, soaked in, and even its vapors inhaled at baths, all due to the believed medicinal values. Lithia water is mineralized water with lithium salts, such as lithium carbonate or lithium chloride, and having these natural springs around Ashland was rare—although other locations as Sarasota Springs (New York) and throughout Georgia were also well known.
With Ashland’s near equidistance between San Francisco and Portland, Southern Pacific Railroad championed the city’s mineral springs and stated they were classified as “Lithia, Soda, and Sulphur Springs.” The owner and editor of the Ashland Tidings, Bert Greer, is credited with bringing about the building of a system that brought the Lithia waters to town.
His support resulted in the residents passing a $175,000 bond issue (a large amount then) in 1914, of which $100,000 ultimately went to build a pipeline system from the “Lithia Springs” well house and pump, near Ashland’s present airport and about three miles east of the city, to a bottling station in Lithia Park; most of the remaining moneys went to develop the park. Wagner closed his bottling plant in 1913.
Located roughly parallel to a “Mineral Water Pavilion” and upstream from the original bandshell, the spot fed Lithia fountains in the park and at the railroad depot to greet new arrivals. The mineral water was also mixed, carbonated, and bottled for sale. The Lithia water was highly concentrated in different minerals, including salt.
A 1915 plaque stated that the following was present in milligrams per liter: sodium chloride (4545), sodium bicarbonate (2456), potassium bicarborate (280), lithium bicarbonate (154), calcium bicarbonate (1404), and magnesium bicarbonate (1153). A recent analysis put the prime components at chlorides, sodium, calcium, boron, and lithium. (One would need to drink 150 liters of the water to meet a doctor’s standard dose of lithium as a “mood stabilizer.) With this composition, one can see why drinking this water was not considered to be pleasant, either then or now.
The entire project proved unprofitable and was a failure, as the mineral water business dried up during and after World War I due to changing tastes—and the depression ended what was left. The “Central Bottling Station” was abandoned; although used briefly as a Boy Scout headquarters, the building was ultimately demolished.
All that is left of the bottling center is a concrete slab after climbing a steep, staircase to the left when one is walking through the trees from Lithia Park’s playground on Ashland Creek’s east bank. After the slab, another staircase rises from there to South Pioneer Street. The remaining staircases were nominated for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places and are part of the Lithia Park Historic District.
A two-inch iron pipe today still carries the mineral water to the fountains on Ashland’s central plaza and nearby Lithia Park—although little else remains of these endeavors—with the visitors today carrying their drinking water in plastic bottles.
