Ammo shortage possible? Here’s the latest from their alert:

We are getting calls from dealers that they are having trouble getting 9mm and 223 ammo.

This, no doubt, is the result of the wars in Ukraine and Israel.

Lake City Ammo is reportedly no longer selling commercially.

Hornady just suffered an explosion at one of their factories and CCI, Federal, Remington and Speer were just sold to a Czech company.

We have have been through ammo shortages before, but thanks to the bumbling ineptitude and anti-gun policies of Joe Biden’s handlers, this may be a more perilous time than in the past.

While we don’t recommend panic, checking your supplies could not hurt.

New Report: Accelerating “Americanization”
Promoting immigrant assimilation helps new arrivals, and the country, fare better

New York, NY – While President Biden’s recent shift to more proactive enforcement of the southern border underlines the importance of controlling immigration, it remains the case that America’s future depends on immigrants. How immigrants fare after entering the country is therefore an equally important—if less pressing—reality, and their contributions to American society hinge on one multifaceted factor: assimilation. Manhattan Institute graduate fellow Daniel Di Martino’s new report reveals the significance of, challenges to, and opportunities for promoting this key trait.

Di Martino documents how immigrants are faring relative to native-born Americans in several areas—including educational attainment, wage growth, occupational prestige, and marriage and family formation—and how states are competing for immigrants within the country. The findings suggest that there is space for both federal and state governments to “upskill” the existing immigrant population—making them more educated, competent in the English language, and economically productive—as well as future cohorts of immigrants who arrive in the United States.

Di Martino makes recommendations for how Congress can make the U.S. immigration system favor more highly educated, entrepreneurial, and English-proficient immigrants and how states might attract and retain more highly educated foreign-born residents, despite competition from other U.S. states. These include:

Select Better Immigrants: Congress can make small tweaks to immigration law to favor more highly educated, entrepreneurial, and English-proficient immigrants.

Lift Up Existing Immigrants: Support helping the existing immigrant population gain more useful skills, including English-language comprehension.

Interstate Competition: States can implement targeted policies to retain highly educated immigrants, such as encouraging immigrants to enroll in college by lowering tuition rates for foreign-born applicants who agree to stay within the state and work for a certain number of years after graduation.

7:10 January 6th Attorney Ed Martin

Both Ed Martin (J6 Attorney) and Cynthia Hughes (Patriot Freedom Project founder) are in D.C. attending the January 6th trials. It would be great to set up an interview with Ed and/or Cynthia, Particularly, because Ed is breaking this story regarding the January 6th “Gallows”:

https://open.ink/mr-coffee

The above video, the first in a series, features exclusive J6 surveillance camera footage, compiled by Ed Martin with the Pro America Report, provided by the U.S. Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight. Set in the early morning hours on January 6th, the video shows a group of individuals assembling the infamous “gallows”, with one particularly distinctive man who goes to get coffee while the gallows are being built.

A couple of other things of note they’d like to highlight:

  • Ed and Cynthia will be at the sentencing of Rachel Powell. She is the mother of 8 children, has no criminal history, and didn’t go into the capitol building. They want to give her 8 years in prison.
  • Christmas for the J6 kids: The Patriot Freedom Project is trying to collect gift cards to give out to the wives and children for the holiday season. They would like to publicize this to garner more support
  • The Patriot Freedom Project is helping families and while everyone wants to talk about what actually happened on J6 we must talk about the humanitarian side of this. PFP needs all the support and help it can get to continue to help these lawyers and families.

Logos Public Charter School

By Dennis Powers

Sponsored by the Medford School District, Logos Public Charter School (“LPCS”) is an accredited public school serving grades K-12 with Oregon accredited teachers. A group of parents or teacher/individuals usually start one and operate under an agreement (or “charter”) with a specific school district. The district gives the charter school a percentage of the funds received per student from the state; and the district keeps the rest for overhead (usually 10-20%). Teaching under their stated vision, the charter school board runs the school with semi-autonomous operations and tuition-free.

With the American Federation of Teachers’ approval during the late eighties (President Ronald Regan’s terms, followed by George H. W. Bush to 1993), the first charter school was established in Minnesota (1991), followed by California (1992). Presently, there are some 8,000 charter schools in every state (including virtual ones), or some 8% of all public schools.

The Oregon legislature followed in 1999: Its charter schools are to develop innovative ways to educate students and a catalyst for improvement of the public school system. Our law states that such schools must receive at least 80% of the general funds received by their sponsoring district; but they are not to receive any federal or state funding (including bond moneys) to cover the cost of building a facility. Each student from K-12 receives an “allotment” limit as to what’s included annually for differing educational levels to cover curriculum (i.e., textbooks), supplies, campus and/or online classes, and outside activities (i.e., art or music lessons)–this “non-paid money” gradually increases from $350 for kindergarten to $1,000 for grades 9-12.

Two brothers, John & Joe VonDoloski, founded Logos in 2010 under a contract with the Medford School District. The superintendent then was supportive, whose wife had homeschooled their kids and very supportive. It started with nine hired teachers, but at the time, a building wasn’t in existence and the hirees had no idea where the new school would be located.

Logos ended up renting the old 9,000 square-foot DMV building built in the 1960s by the Greenway–with an allowed enrollment of 300.

Demand far exceeded expectations, and over time, more teachers and staff were hired; the school district allowed higher and higher enrollments. With average enrollments of 950 students (2017-2019), Logos moved into its new 25,000 square-foot building on Ross Avenue in 2019; financing with equity and a mortgage—as bonding isn’t allowed—the school was ready to educate more students. When “the world shut down” owing to Covid-19, Logos continued educating students but without campus classes. And it’s the commitment of those who stayed with it from the beginnings is why Logos keeps its excellence, as well as after the founders left.

Starting as a small school in 2010, it has grown to be the largest non-virtual charter school in Oregon with 1200 students (and 500 on a waitlist) across Southern Oregon–students in any district in Jackson or Josephine Counties are eligible to enroll. Although the Greek word “logos” is used by both theologians (for the “divine” wisdom of the Son of God) and philosophers (the “reason” which is the controlling, universal principal), this is a secular school.

Logos incorporates the concepts of personalized learning in a ‘classroom without walls’. This individualized education can be in connection with home schooling, college preparation, and/or high-school classes with Rogue Community College (“RCC”) for the trades (i.e., electrician, EMT, etc.) or degrees. The program with parent choice supports students with a specialist or teacher, who meets individually on a weekly basis, access to lead instructors and tutors, field trips, academic competitions, and numerous school activities.

The existing building at 1203 N. Ross Lane (Medford) is more than adequate (with classes also held separately in Grants Pass). In late 2023, however, Logos announced working on a transaction whereby Medford would exchange 3.5 acres of Howard Memorial Sports Park to it to build a 13,000-square-foot multipurpose tutoring building and parking lot. In return, Logos would build a 7.4-acre neighborhood park (playground, basketball court, open field, gazebos, restrooms and trails) at the corner of Rossanley Drive and Ross Lane next to the $76 million Rogue X sports park.

Logos has a teacher/student ratio of 22:1, and it’s been designated as the “Best Charter School in Oregon” and #2 in “Best Public High School in Medford Area.” Its graduation rate averages 90%-plus (as high as 95%) and highest in Southern Oregon with some 40% of its high school students attending RCC or SOU classes tuition-free. Sixteen of its 2022 graduating seniors received both a high school diploma and a two-year RCC Associate degree on graduation day. The Logos “Rogue Pack” Envirothon (environmental science and natural resource management competition) team won first place overall at 2023 Oregon State Envirothon—not to mention other achievement awards.

Yes, this public school stands tall—one superintendent named it an “educational unicorn”–in Southern Oregon, as well as the entire state!
