Support for More Gun Control Falls, But Partisan Gap Grows

By Dr. John Lott

According to a new Gallup poll, support for stricter gun control has fallen by 15 percentage points in just the last five years. But, despite the drop being driven by independents’ changing views, Democrats aren’t likely to rethink their support for more gun control. The partisan divide on this issue has never been so large – 91% of Democrats and only 24% of Republicans support stricter laws.

While Democrats claim they want “reasonable” or “common sense” laws, you get an idea of how stark the partisan differences are by considering the response to Gallup’s question about whether people support a complete ban on civilian ownership of handguns: 40% of Democrats like the idea compared to only 6% of Republicans. [more…]

The FDA’s Gut vs. Your Child’s Heart

by Jane M. Orient, M.D.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has set up a flimsy, or fake, barrier to reaping multi-billion-dollar profits from COVID-vaccine boosters or pediatric shots.

The Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) voted 19-to-0 in favor of Moderna boosters for high-risk adults. “The data itself is not strong, but it is certainly going in the direction that is supportable of this vote,” stated Dr. Patrick Moore of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He admitted that his vote was based largely on a “gut feeling rather than truly serious data.”

He must know that “authorization” is likely followed by “no jab, no job” mandates—or pressure to inject children.

Americans should look at the truly serious data for themselves. Even non-experts can ask: Are fewer people dying now that we have these amazing vaccines.

The statistics about deaths from or with COVID-19 are muddied by controversy and federal incentives to diagnose COVID-19. The key unbiased measure is the all-cause mortality rate.

Excess deaths—a death rate higher than the average in pre-COVID years—peaked in late 2020, reaching about 50 percent above normal in age groups older than 14. After dropping to almost to normal, they started to rise rapidly late in 2021 as the majority of the adult population was getting jabbed.

There are 24 countries and 16 states where cases reached all-time highs after vaccine rollouts. The most vaccinated place on earth—Gibraltar with virtually 100 percent vaccination—has an outbreak so severe that they are cancelling Christmas.

Americans are afraid that the federal government will cancel Christmas too (along with their livelihood just after Christmas), if they don’t behave and get shots for themselves and their children, now the least vaccinated group.

In the 0–14 age group, mortality is below average now. What will happen when we rush the youngsters to vaccination centers?

Nothing would be worse at Christmas than having your child die or be in the hospital with heart failure. Are such events extremely rare or “usually mild,” as the FDA and public health authorities proclaim? The world’s most published cardiologist, Peter A. McCullough, M.D., says myocarditis is “neither rare nor mild.”

Truly serious data was presented at the VRBPAC meeting where one-third strength Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was authorized for children age 5–11, with no negative votes.

High-tech engineer Steve Kirsch estimated that in the U.S. COVID-19 vaccines would kill 150,000 and save about 10,000 lives. Citing risk-benefit expert Dr. Toby Rogers, Kirsch estimated that the Pfizer product would kill 117 children for each life saved. One cardiologist reported seeing 100 times more myocarditis since the vaccine rollout.

If your child gets an inflamed heart for Christmas, he might recover, but won’t be able to ride his new bicycle or run and play for three–six months.

Such information apparently doesn’t count. “We’re not going to get the data until we start using the vaccine [widely],” said Dr. Mark Sawyer, an infectious disease specialist. “We’re never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it and that’s just the way it goes,” said Dr. Eric Rubin, editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine.

Despite the unknowns, the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and others promote widespread jabs, even without parental consent or knowledge. Parents unaware of the jab are not likely to recognize the significance of mild chest discomfort.

Your family doctor may advise, or insist, that you and your children be “fully” jabbed. Could it be that, like the Grinch, their hearts are two sizes too small? Could it be faith in government, Big Pharma, academics, and organized medicine? Distrust of their own judgment or opinions of those outside of medicine, like Steve Kirsch, who are not subject to delicensure or cancellation? Fear of loss of their career?

This fear was apparently so intense it caused one physician to cancel himself. Dr Thomas Jendges, age 55, head of the Chemnitz Clinic in Germany, committed suicide by jumping from the top of the clinic’s building. In his lengthy farewell letter, Dr. Jendges is said to have harshly criticized the information policy of governments in dealing with the dangerousness of COVID-19 vaccines. He apparently was threatened with being fired if he did not submit, and wrote that he could no longer endure the constant lies.

Whatever their reason for hating the non-compliant Whos, the anti-Christmas, anti-liberty Grinches cannot claim to be “following the science,” when they are really following orders, the money, or some expert’s gut feelings.

7:10 Jonathan Pidluzny vice president of academic affairs, American Council of Trustees and Alumni

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) is releasing a new report, “No U.S. History? How College History Departments Leave the United States out of the Major.” The report found that 18 of the top 25 public universities did not have a wide-ranging American history requirement for students seeking a B.A. in history in the major or core curriculum, nor did 24 of the 25 top-ranked national schools. The report looks back to 1952, at which point 88% of publics had such a requirement.

  • The consequences for society are far-reaching. Much of what is not learned—or remains uncorrected—turns into (or makes possible the spread of) misinformation that is so damaging in a free and democratic society. When ten percent of college graduates believe Judy Sheindlin—TV’s “Judge Judy”—is a member of the Supreme Court, it is hard for a political community to have reasoned debate on important policy issues.
  • A 2019 ACTA survey found that 18% of American adults think New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the architect of the New Deal, a package of programs introduced by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1933; 51% could not identify the term lengths for US Senators and Representative—on a multiple choice question. The lack of a shared, fact-based, context for debate means the loudest voices are often the most influential.

His latest –  LIGHTNING DOWN: A World War II Story of Survival

Lightning Down: A World War II Story of Survival (St. Martin’s Press; On-sale: November 2, 2021), he returns to the aerial battlefields of WWII, this time in Europe, to tell a harrowing and unforgettable story of heroism and survival.

On August 13, 1944, Joe Moser set off on his forty-fourth combat mission over occupied France. Soon, he would join almost 170 other Allied airmen as prisoners in Buchenwald, one of the most notorious and deadly of Nazi concentration camps. Moser was just twenty-two years old, a farm boy from Washington State who fell in love with flying. During the war he realized his dream of piloting a P-38 Lightning, one of the most effective weapons the Army Air Corps had against the powerful German Luftwaffe. But on that hot August morning he had to bail out of his damaged, burning plane. Captured immediately, Moser’s journey into hell began.

Moser and his courageous comrades from England, Canada, New Zealand, and elsewhere endured the most horrific conditions during their imprisonment… until the day the orders were issued by Hitler himself to execute them. Only a most desperate plan would save them. The page-turning momentum of Lightning Down is like that of a thriller, but the stories of imprisoned and brutalized airmen are true and told in unforgettable detail, led by the distinctly American voice of Joe Moser, who prays every day to be reunited with his family.

Dear Oregon Health Authority, associated administrators, and elected officials,

I wish to officially comment on the recently revealed “Oregon Digital Vaccine Records Project” planned for 3/8/22 implementation. I take you to the appropriate Oregon statute governing my comment:

ORS 192.620

The Oregon form of government requires an informed public aware of the deliberations and decisions of governing bodies and the information upon which such decisions were made. It is the intent of ORS 192.610 (Definitions for ORS 192.610 to 192.690) to 192.690 (Exceptions to ORS 192.610 to 192.690) that decisions of governing bodies be arrived at openly. [1973 c.172 §1]

According to the OHA’s information supplied to the committee regarding the Digital Vaccine Records Project, go/no on this project was decided SEPTEMBER 27, 2021.

The minimal release of information by OHA indicates an effort to obscure information to members of the public. Other than invited participants, the public process has been ignored, and advanced. The required Public Input was not sought and the result the public knew NOTHING about this scheme until the November 17th meeting information started dribbling out into the public sphere.

At the very least, I respectfully demand true public input and public comment be extended for at least another 30 days. I demand TRUE open public input, not this fraudulent “Consensus-based Process” that so much of the Oregon administrative agencies love to pawn off on the people.

I figure you’ll try selling this proposal under “convenience” and “public health” when it’s ultimately about leveraging control. All you have to do is look at how similar plans are being implemented in Austria, Australia, parts of Europe and other countries where the light of liberty is being intentionally dimmed under the guise of “public health”.

What astounds me most about this attempt to create a Digital Vaccine Passport (which is what you should really call it) is how quickly, willingly, and covertly the administrative organs of the State of Oregon will ignore the foundational principles of representative government and advance policy that will create a monitored and tracked medical police state.

This vaccine passport proposal will eventually be used for much more nefarious policies, a big-time example of “Mission Creep”. It’s described as “voluntary” today, until the time comes when it’s no longer voluntary.

Once again, I respectfully demand you extend the public comment period on this Digital Vaccine Records Project, and get the full public input, instead of your current fraudulent consensus-process input.

8:10 Pediatrician Dr. Paul Thomas

As we find ourselves in a world, where up is down, right is wrong and whomever has the most money wins, Dr. Paul Thomas stands up for humanity, specifically our children. Our Constitutional right for informed consent in our Healthcare system is under attack and Dr. Thomas is on the front lines.

His license was suspended by the Oregon Medical Board on December 3rd 2020, because he published a study, in the peer reviewed, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. The data, in layman’s terms states that vaccinated children had more sick visits and illness than unvaccinated children. Ironically, this is data that the medical board asked Dr. Thomas to provide in order to demonstrate his reason he uses informed consent. The definition of informed consent states that a patient must understand the risk involved before undergoing a medical treatment. Unlike all other drugs however, it doesn’t apply to the CDC’s schedule guidelines for the vaccination of children. It is infuriating that a medical board is dismissing science, and this doctor because it doesn’t align with their bias.

The Oregon Medical Board has made it’s stance clear; they intend to punish Doctors that serve their patients over the State. Dr. Thomas reflects “I am on my journey of honoring informed consent” describing this fundamental human right as “one of the guiding principles of Integrative Pediatrics”. Dr. Paul’s practice was thriving until December 3rd 2020 when the Oregon medical board and the state stepped in between him and the injured children he was treating.  It’s clear they have selected Dr. Paul Thomas, MD, as an example to other physicians, to sit down, shut up and obey. Thankfully this case remains under investigation and Dr. Thomas is rallying to fight against this medical tyranny with legal representation.

The Town of Copper (and Applegate Lake)

By Dennis Powers

The Town of Copper was located one mile north of the Oregon–California border, near the mouth of Carberry Creek. It was named for the copper mining in the region, including the large Blue Ledge mine that was just over the California border (although owned by Southern Oregonians). The town had structures (i.e., lodging, restaurant, etc.) that serviced the miners, including even a post office from 1924 until 1932. When Applegate Lake was created by damming the Applegate River, the town was covered by over sixty feet of water, becoming the “ghost town of Applegate Lake.” The town was located at the south end of Applegate Lake, and the remains of the highway that once served Copper forms the lower end of a boat ramp and leads into the depths (although when the lake is low, these can be mud flats.)

Congress authorized construction of the Applegate Dam in 1962 as part of a flood-control project. The Army Corp of Engineers started work in 1976, completing the lake and dam at a final cost of $96 million dollars. The dam is 1,300-feet long and 242-feet wide; it created a lake that is some 4.5 miles long. Interestingly enough, over 5,000 ounces of gold were recovered during the constructions with the proceeds being split between the federal government and two engineering firms.

Applegate Lake holds up to 82,200 acre-feet of water, and it with Lost Creek Lake are the only large flood control/recreational reservoirs built by the Corps of Engineers in the Rogue River Basin. The lake has trout, landlocked Chinook salmon, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and crappie. With 18 miles of trails circling the reservoir, campgrounds, and two boat ramps, the lake is popular in our region; as well, mountain biking is allowed on one of the trails with horses allowed on three.

Applegate Dam

Named for Lindsay Applegate, who with his two brothers carved out the Applegate Trail to the Willamette Valley, he also led miners into the Blue Ledge mine and town of Copper area. Lindsay made a donation land claim in Yoncalla (between Eugene and Roseburg) in 1846 and established a grist mill. He also owned a toll road through the Siskiyous, which he sold in the 1860s. When Lindsay retired in 1869, he moved to Ashland; he died there in 1892.
