Is the Trump Movement Like Syria’s Kurds, an Indispensible Ally for Christians?
By John Zmirak Published on September 12, 2022
This is the last installment of my long-term series examining the links between the Christian worldview, resistance to tyranny, and the gun rights ensconced at the heart of the American Bill of Rights. In the last column, I told the tragic story of the ancient Christian community in Iraq.
8:10 Jeff Bermant, Founder and CEO of TUSK, what he claims is the world’s first truly free speech based browser. Find out more at www.TuskBrowser.com and we talk about the drive to restore free speech to high tech, and how his larger plans include developing a search engine that doesn’t censor conservative views.
First, and most importantly, TUSK founder, Jeff Bermant is a Patriot who loves the United States of America with all his heart. That’s why he’s putting his money where his mouth is in founding TUSK.
Jeff has taken Mark Levin’s call to action seriously. When asked “What should I do right now?’, Levin replied, “…You should get involved right now.”
After graduating from USC with a major in U.S. history, Jeff Bermant founded one of the largest real estate development groups in Santa Barbara, California before his passion led him into the digital world of browser development with products like Cocoon VPN and Cocoon MyData Rewards.
An entrepreneur with over thirteen years in the field of browser development, combined with his deep love of America, Jeff Bermant is the right person at the right time in history to effect change.
The first and only “Freedom First” Web Browser with Uncensored News. Built from the ground up to ensure Conservatives can access the stories that matter. With TUSK, you choose the media outlets you trust so you can browse a news feed with the most relevant stories for you, by you.
Your web browsing with HTTP is not encrypted and is vulnerable to attackers who are eavesdropping and can gain access to website databases and sensitive information. TUSK forces sites to use HTTPS connections when available, protecting your data from prying eyes. These encrypted connections, on both the client and server sides, ensures data security over the network, especially public networks like Wi-Fi.
We are working on our own search, providing an alternative to the search engines that exist today. We are working on something designed by Conservatives, for Conservatives. And since we don’t censor anyone, you will always have a choice to use whatever search you like

Mr. X makes it clear that much of these policies are “Consensus Process”, meaning the parents need to make it clear that THEY’RE the number one “Stakeholder” in the educational process. Here’s some searches Ed conducted, and you can educate yourself on this by following the links:

Parent and Community Engagement
Successful schools have parents and community members as active, engaged partners. This is not easy in a school with high poverty levels. However, these schools make it a priority to reach out to diverse communities and to develop fresh, innovative strategies to bring parents as partners into schools. Community engagement is particularly vital in low income schools where the school often provides medical, dental, housing, and financial referrals for families in need. Strong community partners provide additional funding, volunteer hours, and support for schools serving some of our most at risk kids.”

To Restore Americans’ Faith in Elections, Fix Sloppy Record-Keeping
Unfortunately, election officials across the country are not keeping the most basic data to monitor election outcomes. Even when they say they do, the numbers do not come close to matching up.
It was a simple goal: match the number of voters with the number of ballots cast. After the last general election, there were concerns that ballots were counted multiple times (so that there could be more ballots cast than voters who voted) and that ballots were destroyed (so that there could be more voters who voted than ballots cast). But, through our examination, we learned that it cannot be determined if these discrepancies exist, because most states and counties simply do not keep timestamped records of who voted as required by law. U.S. Supreme Court Asked Again to Reverse State Decision Targeting Oregon Bakers for Religious Beliefs – First Liberty Institute file appeal seeking review of Oregon’s decision to compel the speech of Aaron and Melissa Klein, forcing them out of business
Attorneys for First Liberty Institute have once again asked the Supreme Court of the United States to review a decision by the Oregon Court of Appeals allowing the state’s Bureau of Labor and Industries (“BOLI”) to penalize Aaron and Melissa Klein because they could not in good conscience employ their artistic talents to express a message celebrating a same-sex wedding. A copy of the petition can be found here. “All Americans are entitled to due process, with a fair hearing before an unbiased tribunal. The Kleins never received that,” said Stephanie Taub, Senior Counsel for First Liberty Institute. “We hope the Court will hear the Kleins’ case and clarify that all Americans have a constitutional right to due process, free speech, and religious liberty. After nearly a decade, it’s past time for the Supreme Court to put an end to the state of Oregon’s hostility toward Aaron and Melissa.”
7:10 Lloyd Muldrow, Marine Vet, hero, disarmed an attacker and now finds HIMSELF facing a year in prison over a technical gun biolation. Lloyd’s GiveSendGo page is: GiveSendGo – Support Lloyd Muldrow who was Wrongfully Arrested: The #1 Free Christian Fundraising Site.
On July 4, 2022, Lloyd Muldrow, Marine veteran and member of the Marine Corps. Security Force (presidential security detail), traveled to Baltimore to visit with his friend, Marshal Collins. When he arrived, he saw Mr. Collins in a struggle with another man, later identified as Wesley Henderson, who was holding a gun. Mr. Collins was bleeding profusely from his forehead; Mr. Muldrow thought he had been shot (In fact, he had been pistol-whipped by Mr. Henderson). He immediately took action by disarming the Mr. Henderson, and then helped Mr. Collins hold Henderson on the ground.
Police arrived moments later to investigate the altercation and the reports of a gun. They encountered Mr. Collins and Mr. Muldrow restraining Wesley Henderson on the ground. Police, of course, immediately asked where the gun was. By then Mr. Henderson’s gun had been retrieved by someone else (a not uncommon occurrence in Baltimore; police said as much on the scene). Mr. Muldrow volunteered to the police that his sidearm was on his hip, and police immediately took possession of it. More police arrived and took control of Henderson, and ultimately arrested him. Police at first thanked Mr. Muldrow for his help, but when the officer in charge arrived and took control of the investigation, the subordinate police were commanded to investigate the lawfulness of Mr. Muldrow’s sidearm in Maryland. They learned he had a concealed carry permit in Virginia, and that he held a job providing security to federal facilities that required him to be armed, but they also learned that he was not specifically permitted to carry in Maryland.
Mr. Muldrow was placed under arrest.
Mr. Collins can be seen on police body worn cameras telling the police that Mr. Muldrow probably saved his life. Many other witnesses on the scene spoke up for Mr. Muldrow’s heroic actions. None of that mattered. The good guy with the gun was placed under arrest for having a gun. (Video footage of this incident is available)
Mr. Muldrow was charged with use possession of a gun within 100 feet of a public building and carrying a concealed weapon.
“I have taught Marines hand-to-hand combat for many years,” said Lloyd Muldrow. I have disarmed several enemies, as well as IEDs. My natural reaction was to do as I was trained for my country.”
“Lloyd Muldrow is an accomplished Marine, a self-defense instructor and a church-going mentor to young people,” said Michael Stark, Mr. Muldrow’s attorney. “Now, because of Maryland’s outdated, and possibly unconstitutional gun laws, he faces jail as if he were every bit as criminally-minded as Mr. Henderson, rather than the selfless hero for his country and his friends that he proved himself to be”.
Mr. Muldrow has established a GiveSendGo.com campaign to defray legal expenses.
8:10 Dr. Dennis Powers, retired professor of Business Law, and today’s “Where Past Meets Present”. More about Dennis at www.DennisPowersBooks.com
Thomas Chavner: the Founder of an Entire Town
By Dennis Powers
Born in 1814 in Ireland, Thomas Chavner came to the United States when he was six-years-old. He was a cabin boy on riverboats, a trapper with Kit Carson, a Comanche interpreter, and fought in the Mexican War (1846-1847). Chavner arrived in the Rogue Valley in 1856. He next bought land near Dardanelles, directly across the Rogue River from where Gold Hill is now. Buying another 160 acres for $750, he built a farm near what would become Gold Hill on the other side of the river.
Two of his ranch hands were looking for stray horses four years later in the hills above Chavner’s property to the south of the Rogue River. Sitting down on a large rock, one of the men looked around and stared at a “dull, yellowish something” that was embedded in the boulder. He brought a piece of the brilliant white rock to his boss, Thomas Chavner, who immediately recognized this as being houndstooth quartz and heavily laced with gold.
Five men—being Chavner, the two “finders”, and the property owners—immediately filed mining claims. By the following night, however, 150 men had staked claims around the mountain top, as one of the owners had a “strong liking” for liquor and blurted out the news. Known as the Gold Hill Pocket that stood above the town-to-be, this rich discovery was one of the better ones. The pocket was above ground, heavy with gold, and pieces were so knit together with gold threads, a sledgehammer’s blow couldn’t separate them.
Although the find played out in eight months, some $700,000 (or nearly $40 million in today’s dollars) of fine “jewelry like” gold was taken out. Chavner had bought out his other partners before then, and he was a wealthy man. As miners flooded the area and region searching for gold, Chavner used his proceeds to acquire more real estate—and more real estate.
When farmers and ranchers asked him for loans, he would grant them, naturally expecting repayment. When they didn’t or couldn’t pay him back, Thomas Chavner foreclosed. By this and outright acquisitions, he had accumulated 2,000-plus acres by 1880 that stretched three miles up the valley along the Rogue River to Central Point. He also owned ranches, orchards, farms, and assorted businesses from hotels and bars to toll bridges and blacksmith shops.
When the Oregon & California Railroad was approaching the area, Thomas Chavner was ready. In late 1883, he sold 17 acres to the railroad for its Gold Hill depot, right-of-way, freight office, and stockyard. On January 7, 1884, he and his wife, Rosa, recorded a plat map encompassing 80 acres that surrounded the railroad’s center; he donated the intended streets and alleys to the public and sold the individual lots to the people.
When he died in 1888, the 74-year-old Chavner had four adult children to continue the family’s businesses. Gold Hill was incorporated in 1895, and the town at its core is basically as he had recorded. Thomas Chavner was the man who had created an entire town.
