6:35 Scott Walter, author of Arabella: The Dark Money Network of Leftist Billionaires Secretly Transforming Americais president of Capital Research Center. He served in the George W. Bush Administration as Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and was vice president at the Philanthropy Roundtable, editing Philanthropy magazine and producing donor guidebooks on aid to the poor, public policy research, and other topics. Walterhas testified on “dark money” nonprofits to the US House and Senate, IRS, and state legislatures. He has written for and been quoted in such outlets as the New York TimesWashington PostWall Street Journal, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy. While billionaires like George Soros, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett are well known as left-wing megadonors transforming the country’s politics, few Americans know about Arabella Advisors, a “dark money” operation that channels much of this money into particular causes via pop-up groups designed to look like grassroots outfits. Citizens across the spectrum will be shocked to learn how Arabella’s empire secretly operates using arrangements that produce the darkest of “dark money.”

Thanks to the author and his colleagues at the Capital Research Center, which first exposed Arabella, even the mainstream press have begun to report on this scandalous story. As this book reveals, Arabella is a major player in battles over Supreme Court nominations, environmentalism, abortion, Medicare for All, fake local news outlets, “Zuck Bucks” that manipulate election offices, lawsuits brought by Democratic super-lawyer (and Steele dossier booster) Marc Elias, and much more.

The money is staggering. In the 2018 election cycle, Arabella’s nonprofits took in $1.2 billion, more than double the fundraising of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee combined. In the 2020 election cycle, Arabella’s fundraising spiked to $2.4 billion.

This mountain of money explains why the left-leaning major media are alarmed. Arabella is “the indisputable heavyweight of Democratic dark money,” warns the Atlantic. A “dark-money behemoth,” says Politico. An “opaque network,” says the New York Times, that funnels “hundreds of millions of dollars through a daisy chain of groups supporting Democrats and progressive causes.”

Pushing the Fight against the tax increase – getting it on the ballot.

What is really going on with Medicard/Oregon Health Plan? Is it just about illegal alien healthcare?

DEMOCRATS PASS KOTEK’S TAX AND SPEND PACKAGE

Last week, the Senate reconvened exactly one month after the House introduced HB 3391, the Governor’s $4.3 billion transportation tax package. Senator Gorsek, who had recently been released from the hospital, joined the Senate Floor Monday just before the vote, providing the necessary two-thirds majority needed to pass HB 3391.

However, before the vote, Senate Republican Leader Bruce Starr suspended the rules to propose two amendments:

● The -9 amendment, which would have given ODOT flexibility within its current budget to reallocate funds to core functions.

● The -5 amendment, which would have referred the bill to the citizens of Oregon, letting them decide if they want to shoulder $4.3 billion in new taxes.

Unsurprisingly, Democrats rejected both. In protest, Senate Republicans left the Floor on behalf of the 93% of Oregonians who overwhelmingly opposed the bill in thousands of pieces of written testimony. Oregonians were clear that they cannot afford more taxes to bail out dysfunctional agencies.

After reconvening for nearly four hours of debate, the Senate passed the bill. It now heads to the Governor’s desk.

The process to pass this bill was sloppy and careless. From House Democrats passing the $4.3 billion tax on Labor Day — blatantly ignoring overwhelming opposition — to prolonging the Special Session seemingly indefinitely while keeping the jobs of 500 ODOT employees in limbo, Democrats have disrespected hard-working, tax-paying Oregonians at every turn.

This is politics at its worst, and Oregonians will pay the price — at the pump, at the DMV, and out of their pocketbooks.

6:35 Chris Hoar is a disaster response and telecom national security spokesperson for SAT123. He is a seasoned entrepreneur with a career spanning tech, satellite communications, and emerging technologies. From trading floors in London to early digital marketing in the U.S., he has helped build and support businesses focused on practical, reliable communication solutions.

Two major failures just converged to leave America’s digital defenses dangerously exposed. The ongoing federal government shutdown has furloughed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) — while at the same time, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 has expired. That means the U.S. has effectively entered a “digital blind spot” — no coordination, no legal protection for data sharing, and no one watching the nation’s critical networks.

With CISA operating on a skeleton crew, the country’s cyber “first responders” are grounded. A major attack on power grids, telecom networks, or emergency systems could go undetected and private companies now face legal risk for sharing the very intel that could prevent it. Add to that the recent expiration of the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program, and cities and utilities are now flying solo.

This isn’t just another shutdown story it’s what happens when political paralysis meets infrastructure dependence. It’s a rare moment where cybersecurity, law, and public safety collide showing how gridlock in Washington can literally turn the lights off.

In moments like this when seconds matter and chaos strike without warning communication is survival. That’s why we need SAT123 the leader in satellite phones, emergency gear, and real-time crisis tools. When cell towers fail, SAT123 keeps you connected. In any school, newsroom, or conflict zone, it’s the lifeline you can trust.

The New World Screwworm, or NWS, a parasitic fly whose larvae infest and eat the flesh of livestock and wildlife, has been detected around 370 miles from the Texas border.

It can kill a cow in about two weeks.

There is no approved treatment.

An outbreak would lead to serious economic consequences.

Coppin shares that planning and threat reduction is key.

7:35 Leslie Corbly, attorney and author of Progressive Prejudice: Exposing the Devouring Mother.

Progressive Prejudice explores how the final taboo of toxic femininity weaponizes compassion and care to the detriment of society, politics, and culture.

How did Donald Trump win reelection? The answer to this question will be studied by historians hundreds of years in the future, but an understanding of progressive prejudice is essential to this inquiry. This book takes a step back and contextualizes Trump’s historical electoral victory through the lens of an underdiscussed, culturally destructive force. This force, the devouring mother, is the archetype of female predation. It is personified on the political left in modern feminism and hides behind compassion, victimhood, and presumed moral purity. Combating this cultural destruction through a radical acceptance of individual accountability is essential to retaining our freedoms and fighting for equality.

Corbly, an author, attorney, and poet, explores the final taboo: female perpetrated violence through a provocative series of autobiographical and cultural essays. Through these essays, Corbly elucidates how progressive beliefs and practices assume the moral superiority of women, while marginalizing and socially destroying the lives of individuals who live under the weight of female perpetrated abuse.

8:15 Juan Carlos Ordóñez, Communications Director of the Oregon Center for Public Policy. We discussed tax transparency!

Corporate tax transparency is a crucial step for increasing accountability and fairness in Oregon’s tax system.

If you get your coffee at Starbucks, you may want to ask for extra sugar. That’s because recent news about the company’s tax avoidance schemes sure leaves a bitter taste.

The world’s largest coffee company has dodged about $1.3 billion in taxes over the past decade through the clever use of a subsidiary in Switzerland, according to a report released earlier this year. These tax shenanigans, the authors explain, deprive governments of “revenues to fund essential public services, including education, health care, infrastructure and support for vulnerable people and communities.” That may be especially true in the case of Oregon, which reportedly has more Starbucks stores per capita than any other state in the nation.

Which begs the question, how much is Starbucks paying (or avoiding) in Oregon income taxes? Unfortunately, that information is secret — at least for now. It’s high time Oregon lawmakers ended this secrecy by requiring big corporations to disclose key tax information.

Starbucks is far from alone when it comes to tax avoidance. “Tax avoidance” refers to legal means by which corporations minimize their tax bills, as opposed to “tax evasion,” which refers to illegal means.

One way corporations are able to avoid taxes is through the use of tax loopholes and subsidies. And how do these tax loopholes come into being? They come into being as a result of corporations pressuring elected officials to create these loopholes by deploying their armies of lobbyists to Congress or state capitols, or by pouring money into elections. Over the past decades, the number of tax loopholes and subsidies has exploded. Today, Oregon’s tax code has 73 different flavors of “tax expenditures,” the official name for what are commonly referred to as “tax breaks,” “tax loopholes,” or “tax subsidies.”

Another way corporations avoid taxes is through the use of offshore tax havens. In the case of Starbucks, the company set up a subsidiary in Switzerland, a notorious tax haven offering very low tax rates to multinational corporations. Starbucks uses this Swiss subsidiary to buy its green coffee. The subsidiary then jacks up the price of those coffee beans when it “sells” them to other Starbucks subsidiaries, those that sell coffee to consumers all around the world. With this trick, Starbucks is able to shift a huge portion of its profits from where they were earned — including the Starbucks in your neighborhood — to Switzerland, where those profits largely escape taxation.

Aggressive corporate tax avoidance helps explain why corporate income taxes have failed to keep up with corporate profits. From 1980 to 2024, national corporate profits have grown nearly twice as fast as corporate income tax payments to Oregon. Five decades ago, the corporate income tax accounted for 18.5% of all income taxes collected in Oregon. Today, the corporate share is down to about 10%.

While it’s pretty clear that corporate tax avoidance is common, most of the details are shrouded in secrecy. There is no public information as to how much big corporations pay in Oregon income taxes and how they arrive at that figure. No one knows for sure which corporations benefit from which tax breaks. And we can only guess which hugely profitable multinational corporations pay Oregon’s meager corporate minimum tax.

That is why enacting corporate tax transparency is a crucial step for increasing accountability and fairness in Oregon’s tax system. Transparency means requiring corporations to make certain basic information public, including their total sales in Oregon, the income taxes they paid, and the tax breaks they used.

Transparency is right for Oregonians. Enacting it would allow us to understand what, if any, benefit working families get in return for all the corporate tax breaks on the books. It would discourage corporate tax avoidance, as some companies would want to avoid bad publicity. At the very least, it would allow Oregonians to vote with their dollars, choosing to do business with corporations they view as supporting the common good.

Finally, tax transparency would give policymakers and the public information to assess whether, as corporations like to argue, their taxes are too high or whether a particular change in tax policy would hurt their bottom line.

Corporate tax avoidance and its bitter aftertaste are the house blend right now. It’s time for a long-overdue cup of transparency.

Bernie Sanders report says AI created by multi-billionaires will knock out 100 million jobs
(Is this true?)

For decades, Americans have been sold a lie: that technology is our savior, innovation is progress, and Big Tech is making our lives better. But let me ask you a question—when unelected billionaires like Elon Musk and Bill Gates start talking about replacing human beings with artificial intelligence, is that innovation… or is it enslavement?

Both Elon Musk and Bill Gates—two self-proclaimed futurists—have boldly stated that AI and robotics will render human labor obsolete within the next decade. That’s not speculation. That’s not science fiction. That’s their stated goal. If no one needs to work, what happens to our purpose, our independence, our freedom?

It means this: a small handful of technocrats and corporate overlords will control everything. And you? You’ll be reduced to a number, a consumer, a programmable unit in a global surveillance grid.

Pickax, the new social media site could be the answer…

Slain student’s grieving dad vows action after repeat offender allegedly murdered daughter

A grieving father’s anguished words in Washington have put a spotlight on a tragedy that many Americans say reflects their worst fears: a justice system that repeatedly frees dangerous repeat offenders until it’s too late.

Stephen Federico’s daughter, Logan, 22, was murdered in her sleep in May while staying overnight at a friend’s house in Columbia, South Carolina. Police say the suspect, Alexander Devonte Dickey, 30, broke into the home, shot Logan, and then went on a shopping spree with her stolen credit and debit cards.

But what has shocked and outraged many is not only the brutality of the crime, but court documents revealing Dickey’s 39 arrests, and 25 felony charges before Logan’s murder. Yet he had spent barely 600 days in jail over the past decade.

Victory! Court Refuses to Block Trump’s
Sanctuary City Funding Cutoff
IRLI—now part of FAIR—had shown cities’ policies to be
unconstitutional
WASHINGTON—Yesterday afternoon, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts denied an injunction sought by two hardcore sanctuary cities in Massachusetts—Chelsea and Somerville—against a cut-off of federal funding by the Trump Administration because of their sanctuary policies. The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI)—which has since joined the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)—had submitted a brief in the case urging the court to deny the injunction.IRLI pointed out in its brief that the cities cannot show imminent irreparable harm from a funding cutoff because their policies, being in conflict with federal immigration law, violate the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution. Governmental jurisdictions, such as cities, do not suffer any harm a court can recognize by ceasing to follow unlawful policies, nor by losing federal funding because they choose to continue unlawful policies. A party must show imminent irreparable harm in order to be granted an injunction.

Yesterday, in denying the injunction, the court agreed, concluding that the cities had not demonstrated imminent irreparable harm because no claimed injury was imminent.

“Rather than simply comply with federal law and the Constitution, these cities have run to court to keep the money flowing even as they go on breaking the law,” said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of FAIR. “But the administration’s pressure on these cities to obey the law is not an injury a court can recognize. We are pleased the court clearly saw that there was no imminent irreparable harm here, and denied the injunction.”

The case is City of Chelsea v. Trump, No. 1:25-cv-10442 (D. Mass.).

Roller Derby–and Southern Oregon

By Dennis Powers

Organized endurance roller-derby races date back to the early 1880s.  A six-day “go-as-you-please” competition at Madison Square Garden, New York City, had 36 skaters competing for $500 in prize money. The winner, as well as another skater, died shortly after the six-day race was completed. This is not a sport for the faint of heart.

Speed and endurance races were held on both flat and banked tracks in the 1900s.  In fact, an 8.5-mile roller marathon by a group of Chicago rink owners was held in 1908. Others were later promoted, including a 24-hour banked track race at Madison Square Garden six years later, where it wouldn’t be inconceivable that betting was part of the allure.

Leo Seltzer, a struggling Portland, Oregon film publicist (1903-1978) decided that cash prize-awarding dance marathons in the depression were competing against his Oregon cinema chain, so he began holding his own dance marathons, entitled “walkathons,” which could run as long as 40 days. He was successful, but thought this was “vulgar”.

In the mid-1930s, Seltzer (the “father of “roller derby”) saw that this was the future. He and sportswriter Damon Runyon created a structured game with more contact between the skaters—and the Roller Derby was created. Seltzer’s game and a traveling skating group evolved, especially during World War II, but in late 1948, New York City televised the competition–now with women to capture this audience–and this became nationwide.

By 1958, it was time for son Jerry to take over the day-to-day operation of the family business. Jerry Seltzer (born June 3, 1932), once again took the sport to great heights by syndicating Roller Derby telecasts, featuring the San Francisco Bay Bombers, which were shown on a network of 120 TV stations across the country. Roller Derby broadcasts then beat the competition in most markets.

Although with fluctuating audience interest–due to the rise of baseball, TV, and other sports–Leo Seltzer saw his game break attendance records nationally, as his son Jerry took over the enterprise. Although Jerry closed the business in 1973, a national group,  the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (“WFTDA”) had been formed with rules, support, and regional organizations throughout the world. There are now some 450 geographical leagues (primarily in the U.S.) in six countries.

At https://www.soderby.org/ is the Southern Oregon Derby Website. “SO Derby” is the first skater-run, skater-owned, non-profit league in the Rogue Valley. A new skater should also expect to invest $250+ in new gear if they don’t have any. Local game tickets are purchased thru its website, are held at the Medford Armory, with games starting at 6:00 PM. A typical schedule will be six games with tournaments to determine rankings. Medford has two teams–the “Ravens” and the “Krakens”–which play each other as well as an “all star” that competes outside of Medford.

The current schedule has 2 more away games to go and “SOD” is 4-3. Games have been against the “Krakens”, “Outlaws,” and “Ravens” from Reno to Medford. On some near 50 players on this team, you’ll find names such as “Naughty Maudie,” “Kablamo,” “MonkeyBizNasty,” “Killer Taco,” “London Rumbler,” “Madam Morticia (an actual mortician),” “Wyld Stallyn,” “Medieval Knievel,” “Five Foot Fury,” and more. There are apprentice programs, boot camps, and mandatory insurance from the national organization.

Points are scored by blocking to where one skater (called the “jammer”) laps the defenders with different rules, but in watching one game: blocks, trips (not legal), shoves (OK), bullying thru, crackbacks, and pushes prevail. These “jams” last two minutes and then another one is called. Scores are generally over 100 points with many starts, stops, and hits like linebackers. The players are from a variety of day positions, from the general manager of a top theatre to physical therapists, social workers, and “vet techs.” Each player must wear a helmet, mouth guard, knee and elbow guards, and wrist guards.

Bank Tracks are on the wane due to the size of facilities needed for permanent structures and upkeep. And sportscasters use a variety of phrases, but one that stands out, “Get your fluffy butt out here!”
