7:10: Greg Roberts, Mr. Outdoors himself from RogueWeather.com, calls in to bring to you the Friday Outdoor Report
7:35: Anthony Townsend, author of the book, Ghost Road: Beyond The Driverless Car talks with Bill.
Anthony M. Townsend is the author of GHOST ROAD: Beyond the Driverless Car. Townsend is the president of Star City Group, a forecasting and urban planning collaborative based in New York City, and the author of Smart Cities. He lives in Jersey City, New Jersey.
For decades we have tried to build a car that will drive itself, but what will happen when self-driving technology infects buses, bikes, delivery vans, and even buildings?
In GHOST ROAD: Beyond the Driverless Car, Anthony Townsend provides a penetrating look at the near-future disruption of autonomous vehicles, where technology will not only transform life behind the wheel but revolutionize our entire industry and infrastructure. The “ghost road” of the future will fundamentally define our existence: be that one of increased mobility and freedom, or economic decline and decay.
According to Townsend, “the future is wide open for us to imagine something better. Now is the time to cast aside all we’ve been told and write the new myths of the driverless revolution to come.” In this near-future, autonomous vehicles will turbocharge our appetite for the instant delivery of goods, making the future as much about moving stuff as it is about moving people. For-profit companies will link the automated machines that move us to the cloud, raising concerns about mobility monopolies and privatization of “the curb.” Our cities and towns will change as we embrace new ways to get around. GHOST ROAD explains where we might be headed together in driverless vehicles, and the choices we must make as a society to shape that future.

8:35: Bill Herndon with Siskiyou Enterprises chats with Bill this morning. Today, Bill and Bill will rap about Governor Kate Brown’s Executieve order, and how it’s hurting landlords across the state.
Bill’s Guests: Thursday, June 11, 2020
6:35: Jason Snead, Executive Director of the Honest Elections Project talks with Bill.
Jason discusses his organization’s lawsuit against the State of Michigan to compel it to clean its voter rolls.
Inaccurate voter rolls leave elections vulnerable to voter fraud.
Snead States, “a Michigan voter—working with the Honest Elections Project—filed a lawsuit against the state of Michigan to compel it to clean up its inflated voter rolls. Our goal is to deliver to voters the clean, accurate, and reliable voter rolls on which fair elections rely. I sincerely hoped to avoid litigation and work collaboratively with the state in that endeavor; unfortunately, Michigan has chosen a different path. Tolerating inflated and poorly maintained voter rolls is never acceptable, particularly in an election year that will rely on those records to send more mail ballots than ever before.”
7:10: Dr. Jerome Corsi, investigative journalist and best selling author of several books talks with Bill today.
Dr. Corsi has written a new E-book that he says that President Trump has to read… if he wants to remain President.
The Plan: To Remove Donald Trump from the Presidency
The plan to remove Donald Trump from the presidency began on June 16, 2015 – the minute Donald Trump stepped on the escalator in Trump Tower to descend with his wife into the marble atrium below to announce his candidacy for the president.
The first rounded in the attempt to remove Trump ended on March 22, 2017, when Special Counsel Robert Mueller announced the conclusion of his investigation, reporting that the FBI and the prosecutors on his team had found no evidence the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia and insufficient evidence to support a charge that Trump had obstructed justice by attempting to interfere in his investigation.
Having failed with the first attempt, those seeking Trump’s demise began a second round that is in the process of unfolding even as I write these words. The most relevant immediate steps to bring to success this second round include the following:
- The launch of a bio-engineered disease, known as COVID-19 that was aimed to force a U.S. national quarantine and shutdown of the economy at the order of President Trump. The purpose of launching COVID-19 was to destroy the U.S. economy and to damage the U.S. dollar beyond repair.
- Next of importance was to find an incident where a white police officer killed an unarmed black citizen that was videotaped to show the brutality of the police officer. The now-deceased black citizen would be made into a race martyr that would set in motion the “Ferguson Syndrome.”
- Once the “Ferguson Syndrome” incident is identified, Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) are to be activated. Antifa, a largely white terrorist organization with roots in the Communist opposition to the Nazis in Germany’s Weimar Republic, would be mobilized worldwide to hold a series of massive, violent demonstrations bringing major cities in the United States and Europe to a halt.
- BLM would be mobilized to march in the streets alongside Antifa to give the resulting urban violence in the United States a “social justice” narrative. BLM was founded in memory of the death of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old black male who could be apotheosized into a “gentle giant” killed in cold blood by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri, on August 9, 2014. It is important to understand that BLM has transformed into a Maoist organization.
- In June 2020, the goal will be to build enough political pressure on President Trump that he begins to consider resigning, realizing he can live a comfortable life in luxury without the headaches of being president. Once Fmr. National Security Adviser John Bolton’s book hits the bookstores, the mainstream media hysteria will begin at every TV channel and newspaper. [more…]
This may be one of the last books written under the U.S. Constitution. The grant of freedoms was given under the First Amendment, including both freedom of religion and freedom of speech. In future generations, this book will be suppressed if the forces of darkness succeed with their plan to destroy the United States as we have known it since 1776.

7:10: Lawrence W. Reed, economist and author of the book: Was Jesus A Socialist? talks with Bill today.
WAS JESUS A SOCIALIST?
Foundation for Economic Education president emeritus Lawrence W. Reed reveals it is pure fantasy to believe that Jesus wanted earthly governments to redistribute wealth, centrally plan the economy, or impose welfare states.
Socialism is making a shocking comeback in America – and so is the idea that “Jesus was a socialist.” Everyone from MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell to the Democratic Socialists of America to the Huffington Post is trying to enlist Jesus in their redistribution schemes.
There’s only one problem: their claims are completely bogus.
In his new book, Was Jesus a Socialist? economist and historian Lawrence W. Reed demolishes the idea that Jesus called on earthly governments to redistribute wealth or centrally plan the economy – or even to impose a welfare state.
Reed is president emeritus of the Foundation for Economic Education. Was Jesus a Socialist? expands on his immensely popular Prager University video, which has attracted more than 4 million views.
Was Jesus a Socialist? could not be timelier. Consider…
- More than half of young Americans say they’d rather live in a socialist country than in a capitalist one;
- In a 2016 Barna Group poll, Americans said that socialism aligns better with Jesus’s teachings than capitalism does and that self-proclaimed “democratic socialist” Bernie Sanders aligns closest to Jesus’s teachings; and
- In a 2019 survey, more than 70 percent of millennials said they were likely to vote for a socialist.
Point by point, Reed answers the claims of socialists and progressives who try to enlist Jesus in their causes. As he reveals, nothing in the New Testament supports their contentions. Was Jesus a Socialist? shows:
- Why it’s absurd to believe that the Parable of the Good Samaritan makes the case for government welfare programs and redistribution;
- What Jesus said – and didn’t say – about rich people… and why these teachings are so misunderstood;
- The real meaning of Jesus’s famous line: “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s”;
- Why Winston Churchill was right when he called socialism the “gospel of envy”;
- Why money is NOT the “root of all evil” – and what the New Testament actually says; and
- How, if anything, Jesus’s teachings support free markets and private property over socialism.
“A timely, lively, learned and well-argued masterpiece that deftly demolishes the claims that Jesus was at heart a Marxist. Reed’s impressively deep knowledge of economics and the New Testament shines through. Woe to those who try to challenge him on the subject of Jesus’s alleged political beliefs!” –Steve Forbes

Bill’s Guests: Monday, June 8, 2020
6:35: Ben Berquan, an investigative journalist and Nation Field Correspondent with America’s Voice News, chats with Bill this morning. George Floyd’s death has been an opportunity for violent groups such as ANTIFA, to spread anarchy throughout the country. Now, so many people around the country calling for the defunding, or outright abolition of law enforcement. Ben is here today, to talk about why that’s a bad idea.
Ben actually suffered an attack by angry ANTIFA thugs.
The presence of extremist organizations, such as Antifa, is what’s causing the violence and destruction of America’s greatest cities. This week, Antifa is also trending on Twitter after Project Veritas infiltrated their organization to expose how the group encourages domestic terror.
“All of these leftist are working together to push the agenda that America is a bad country, police are always bad, minorities are always good, which is ultimately designed to destroy America.”
- “They have taken the George Floyd situation and made it into a free for all to create anarchy, which is proving the need for law enforcement.”
- “This is their way of recreating America into the truly facist, totalitarian country of their own making, and it’s all designed to implode this country.”
- “What we are seeing now is an intimidation coming from the left, people feel like they have to say these things to appease the violent leftist activist.”
- “The destruction of America and the foundations of this country is what they want, they are the forces in America that want to destroy this country.”
7:10: Greg Roberts, Mr. Outdoors himself from RogueWeather.com, calls in to bring to you the Monday Outdoor Report.
7:35: Pastor Charlie Granade, co-author of Jesus and Mary (Jane) talks with Bill.
“I have co-written a book with Dr. Barnabas Sprinkle called Jesus and Mary (Jane): Navigating marijuana & cannabis in light of science and scripture. This book is a collaboration between two pastors (one a Democrat and the other, a Republican) who have led congregations in Southern Oregon and who have put aside their political differences to come together to write a book on cannabis–looking at it from both a scriptural and scientific standpoint. I did most of the research and have combed through hundreds of scientific and medical journal articles, including some from outside the US. Barnabas is the better writer of the two so we made a great team.
Our book was endorsed just last week by Dr. Wayne Grudem, a top theologian who has written several books (and textbooks) on theology, as well as a top psychiatrist in the US in the area of addiction from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Christian Thurstone, M.D. It has also been endorsed by Dr. Mike Kuykendall a Northwest resident and New Testament professor of theology (lives in Portland) and a pediatrician, Dr. Audrey Atkins.
This book is designed to be a small group study and reference tool for church leaders, youth leaders, school teachers, and others to clarify misconceptions about marijuana, CBD, etc.
The print and Kindle versions should be available on June 12th and by July, the Audible version should be out as well. All on Amazon.com. The book trailer will come out on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter around 11:59 PM on July 11th.
My website is www.jesusandmaryjane.net and you can subscribe to my blog there.
In a time of social unrest and divide, I believe our book and project is a breath of fresh air and one that demonstrates how people can put their political differences aside to find common ground. I cannot think of a more relevant topic for the Pacific Northwest and the timing of the book is just right.
Blessings
8:10: Dr. Dennis Powers joins Bill, for this week’s edition of “Visiting Past & Present.”
Elizabeth Zinser
by Dennis Powers
Elisabeth Zinser was born in 1940 and a native of Meadville, Pennsylvania. With her interest in education and serving others, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford (1964), a master’s from UCSF (1966-Nursing), and a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley (Educational Psychology–1972). As a Sloan Fellow, she earned her master’s degree in the MIT Executive Program in Business in 1982.
After her doctorate, Elisabeth focused on health sciences. She joined the pioneering team that brought the University of Washington School of Medicine from a single state to a four-state medical school; she coordinated the development of Kentucky’s Area Health Education System; and she served as Dean of Nursing at the University of North Dakota. By 1982, she was ready to step into university-wide leadership. She became the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro for six years (1983-1989).
In March of 1988, she was selected as president of Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.–a private university for the education of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The board’s decision sparked a protest demanding that this institution have its first deaf president. Elisabeth withdrew to allow a deaf leader to be appointed—and even protesters thanked her for making such a graceful exit.
In 1989, Elisabeth became the first woman president of the University of Idaho, the statewide research and land-grant university for Idaho. She served six years (1989–1995), early on meeting and marrying Idaho Senator Don Mackin of Moscow. Don was a graduate of Washington State University, co-owner of a property management firm, and a former mayor of that city. They were married for two decades until in 2011 he passed away in Ashland.
In 1995, Elisabeth assumed the position of chancellor of the University of Kentucky, Lexington Campus with over 30,000 students. In this period, she also provided consultation for the Medical University of Southern Africa and Zayad University in the Dubai (UAE). In 2001, she became president of Southern Oregon University. She and her administration added seven new degree and certificate programs, completed expansion and renovation of Hannon Library, modernized student housing, expanded Stevenson Union, and led the initiative to secure nearly $13 million in state funding in 2005 for the Higher Education Center in Medford, working in partnership with Rogue Community College.
Retiring in 2006 from full-time academic responsibilities, her educational career had spanned forty years including seventeen as president or chancellor at three universities. At the time, she said, “My tenure at Southern has been the perfect capstone of my academic career.” She was elected later as a Distinguished Fellow of the Association of American Colleges & Universities.
Not a retirement (her term is “rewirement”), Elisabeth now had the time for nonprofit work in this state and regionally: The Ashland YMCA, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland Rotary (including as President in 2017), the Oregon State Bar, the International Women’s Forum-Oregon, Southern Oregon Historical Society, Community Works, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (“OLLI”). She has traveled more for conferences from Morocco to Berlin and Montreal, and for a 3-week van camping and hiking trip in Iceland. She returned to her enjoyment of hiking, cross-country skiing, backpacking, and kayaking.
Elisabeth has been making face masks for Asante and residential nonprofits as her part in supporting our response to the COVID-19 virus, among other efforts. She’s on Zoom for two boards, OLLI and exercise classes, and various Webinars. As she said, “Days are full.” Yes, indeed–and this is another person who has contributed so well to Southern Oregon and our communities.
