Body Found In Douglas County Woods, Identified

THE BODY OF A YOUNG MAN, FOUND BY THE DOUGLAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE BACK IN MAY HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED. THE MAN WAS DISCOVERED ON MAY 18TH ON THE TILLER TRAIL HIGHWAY, BETWEEN DAYS CREEK AND MILO. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE BELIEVES THAT THE BODY OF 22-YEAR-OLD EDUARDO GARCIA CASTELLNOS, MAY HAVE BEEN PLACED, BUT THE CAUSE AND MANNER OF HIS DEATH ARE UNDER INVESTIGATION.

DEQ Reopens, Creating Long Line on Biddle Road

A LONG LINE OF CARS AND TRUCKS FORMED IN THE SLOW LANE OF BIDDLE ROAD YESTERDAY AS THE DEQ SMOG STATION FINALLY OPENED ITS DOORS. THE STATION HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE THE ONSET OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, AND SUBSEQUENT SHUTDOWN.

Josephine County Gets Grant For Public Transit

JOSEPHINE COUNTY WILL BE GETTING A $2.3 MILLION DOLLAR GRANT TO HELP OUT WITH PUBLIC TRANSIT. BOTH OF OREGON’ S U.S. SENATORS HAVE STRESSED JUST HOW IMPORTANT PUBLIC TRANSIT IT RIGHT NOW, ESPECIALLY FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS. THE MONEY WILL GO TOWARD OPERATING, ADMINISTRATIVE AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE COSTS.

G.P. City Council Backs Away From Stipends

GRANTS PASS CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS HAVE SEEMINGLY BACKED AWAY FROM THE IDEA OF THEM GETTING PAID FOR THEIR SERVICE. THE DAILY COURIER SAYS THAT ON MONDAY, THE COUNCIL GAVE A 6 TO1 THUMBS UP, TO KEEP STIPENDS FROM THE NOVEMBER BALLOT. THE COURIER GOES ON TO SAY THAT THE REASON SUPPORT FOR STIPENDS IS DWINDLING, IS BECAUSE COUNCILORS AREN’T COMFORTABLE, ASKING FOR PAY, WHEN THE CITY’S PUBLIC SAFETY LEVY IS UP FOR RENEWAL.
