Josephine County Sees Spike in Online Sex Crimes

ONLINE SEXUAL OFFENSES HAS RISEN A BIT IN JOSEPHINE COUNTY. SIX ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE IN JUST THIS MONTH. FOUR OF THOSE ARRESTS, ACCORDING TO THE GRANTS PASS DAILY COURIER HAVE INVOLVED A DETECTIVE, POSING AS A JUVENILE. NEIGHBORING COUNTIES HAVE HAD JUST TWO ONLINE SEX CRIME CHARGES FILED.

RALLIES WERE HELD IN SALEM AND IN MEDFORD OVER THE WEEKEND, CALLING FOR THE RETURN OF HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS COMPETITIONS TO RETURN. THE LET THEM PLAY MOVEMENT HELD THE RALLIES. JULIAN CORDLE, WHO IS HEAVILY INVOLVED IN JACKSON COUNTY SPORTS, AND ADMINISTRATES THE MOVEMENT’S FACEBOOK PAGE SAYS THAT HE WORRIES THAT WITHOUT HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS, THAT YOUNG ATHLETES’ MENTAL HEALTH COULD BE IN JEOPARDY.

C-Virus Rises In Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY’S PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAS REPORTED 3 NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS. THE COUNTY’S PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER DR. JIM SHAMES SAYS THAT THE NUMBER ARE FROM COMMUNITY SPREAD. HE GOES ON TO SAY THAT MASK WEARING AND HAND WASHING ARE NOW, MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER, AND WILL ALLOW US TO HAVE A FUNCTIONING SOCIETY. BUT IT’LL BE ONE THAT LOOKS DIFFERENT, UNTIL A VACCINE OR TREATMENT IS AVAILABLE.
